Four Career Paths for Those Interested in Property Industry

submitted on 3 October 2018
When it comes to choosing a career, you can never go wrong by providing people with one of their necessities. Just as people need food to eat, so too do they need a roof over their heads. When you love pairing people with the home of their dreams, there will always be work available for you, as if you love to create, then you can always flip houses or even craft the furniture to sit in someone’s home. To help you get the job, you need to know your strengths and what options there are available to you. There is a lot more to real estate development than just construction, and there is a lot more to decorating than just choosing some fun paintings. To help you choose the right career path based on your passions, use this guide:

Real Estate Development
Anything to do with the creation and maintenance of a home is good business. Homes are built, renovated, sold, and remade every day. By getting certified in the construction and real estate development business, you can benefit from regular, exciting work that helps people build the home they have always dreamed of. 1. Construction
There are a lot of sub-divisions of construction, and all will require you to be certified. Unlike other jobs, however, you will need to be certified in every task you wish to complete. You cannot simply watch your co-worker do something and then continue the job yourself. If you are legally required to be certified, then you have to go through the certification process first. This helps to ensure safe and well-built homes for everyone in the UK.

2. Utilities
Plumbing and electrical can fall under the sub-divisions of construction, however, homeowners also need their windows replaced every year, and to have their pipes or worse, their electrical system checked and possibly updated. Both plumbers and electricians are heavily certified and trained, and often require years if not decades of work in order to make it on a freelance business.

Real Estate Agent or Solicitor
In the UK, there is a difference between a real estate agent and a solicitor, but they can be the same person. What it doesn’t mean is that homeowners will choose the first name out of a hat. Rather, many prefer to go through an agency who will help them sell their home. What this means for you is that you need to turn your job hunt online. You can get a job as an estate agent, with or without the degree, you just need to keep an eye on what jobs in Sheffield or beyond there are, so that you can get in on the next job posting as soon as possible.

Working in the property industry is a very smart choice. Whether you work for first-time home buyers, retirees, or simply people who want a change of scenery or to reinvest in their home, there are always people on the move, meaning there will always be work to be found.
