Creating the Perfect Barbecue Area in Your Garden

submitted on 5 October 2018
This year’s summer sun may have all but passed, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t be putting the last remaining strands of reasonably good weather to good use. There’s still time for you to be getting outside and making some improvements to your garden — if you do, you won’t have much work to do come the start of next summer, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy the hot temperatures right off the bat.

If you find yourself at a loss in regards to what improvements you can make, then why not consider creating a barbecue area in your garden? Better still, why not resolve to create a perfect one! To see how to do just that, make sure to read on.

Get the right tools
To make your barbecue area a guest-entertaining paradise next summer, you have to be ensuring it is packed with all the right and best tools. Of course, first of all, this means getting a good barbecue — whether you opt for coal or gas, there are a plethora of choices out there, from masonry builds to luxury griddles. Other tools range from things that are very much needed to help you cook, like oven gloves, to things that add nothing more than aesthetic appeal to the food that you serve, like spiralizers.

Pick the colour scheme wisely
To make your barbecue area look good, you have to be paying close attention to the colour scheme that you choose to adorn it in. Fortunately, a colour that has risen back to popularity in recent times, when it comes to both interior and exterior kitchen areas, is green — this is fortunate because green, in pretty much any shade of it, compliments any garden space. You should be doing everything from choosing green garden furniture to choose green tablecloths.

Create safe storage spaces
Your efforts shouldn’t be focused solely on making sure your barbecue area is aesthetically pleasing, however, as it’s just as important for you to make it a safe place for people to spend time in. In fact, you need to be making it a safe place for people to be in at all times, as you never who or what is going to stumble into it at any given time.

To do this, first and foremost, you have to be ensuring that the bottles of propane LPG gas that you use to fuel your barbecue are safely put away when they are not being used. This form of LPG gas needs to be used and stored outdoors, meaning there’s no getting around the fact that you have to either find a safe space in your garden to place your bottles, or you have to create one. To perform the former, a suitable propane storage space in your garden constitutes as being an area that remains dry, is flat, is not at all enclosed and is well-ventilated. If you want to get straight down to the tasks of entertaining and having fun next summer, then you need to be creating a barbecue area in your garden now.
